Introduction to Yutu

Yutu is an L2 built on Hyperliquid for markets, applications, and on-chain finance. It combines a native perpetuals engine with EVM execution, a bridge to Hyperliquid, and contract access to Hyperliquid market data.

HYPE is used for gas. Yutu also sends 31% of gross protocol revenue to Hyperliquid's Assistance Fund.

What runs on Yutu

Jade

Jade is Yutu's perps app. It uses Yutu's native order book, while positions, isolated collateral, funding, and liquidations are recorded in protocol state.

Signed intents let automated strategies place, replace, or cancel orders under protocol-enforced policies. An account owner can limit markets, trade size, exposure, request rate, daily volume, drawdown, gas, and expiry without giving the strategy an unrestricted wallet key. Strategy mandates add notional-to-equity, loss, concentration, holding-time, and counterparty rules with on-chain conformance history.

EVM applications

Yutu supports EVM contracts and standard wallet transactions. Apps can settle on the same network as the native trading venue and pay gas in HYPE.

Contracts can submit native market orders through Yutu's write precompile. The call returns a promise ticket, then the chain records the fill and can notify the contract after settlement.

Depth-priced swaps

Swap pools read Hyperliquid's live order-book depth and calculate the price for the full trade. LPs supply the assets used to fill each swap.

Bridge and explorer

The Yutu bridge moves HYPE between Hyperliquid and Yutu. The explorer shows blocks, transactions, addresses, protocol accounts, events, and routes into Hyperliquid.

Builder economics

Applications can charge a builder fee on supported trades. The fee is shown to the user, enforced by the execution contract, and paid directly to the builder.

Why Yutu is aligned with Hyperliquid

  • HYPE is the network gas asset.
  • Hyperliquid market data can be used inside Yutu applications.
  • Yutu's swap pools price trades from Hyperliquid order-book depth.
  • Assets move between the two networks through the Yutu bridge.
  • Hyperliquid receives 31% of Yutu's gross protocol revenue.

ProtocolFeeSink enforces the revenue split with immutable destinations, no admin key, and permissionless distribution.
